Urgent Need for a Dialysis Center in Sohawa - First Project

Our Vision: A Multi-Phase Project Plan

After two years of research and community engagement, we are taking actionable steps to address this healthcare gap. My experience working with DaVita in the U.S. has deepened my understanding of kidney disease, and I am now applying this knowledge to make a tangible impact in Sohawa.

Urgent Need for a Dialysis Center in Sohawa: Our First Project

In the heart of Punjab, Pakistan, the village of Sohawa faces a critical healthcare challenge: the absence of a local dialysis center. Kidney patients currently travel approximately 90 km (56 miles) to Rawalpindi or Islamabad for life-saving dialysis treatments. This journey is not only physically exhausting but also financially draining for families, most of whom rely on a single breadwinner. The high costs of kidney disease, coupled with travel expenses, exacerbate the financial burden on these underprivileged households.
